AMASC会長からの呼びかけ「その3」
XVI AMASC WORLD CONGRESS-MÉRIDA 2018 THEME OF STUDY: THE CALLS OF THE 2016 GENERAL CHAPTER CARD 3. TO BE AND TO ACT AS ONE BODY
“All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had. With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and much grace was upon them all. There were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need.” (Acts 4:32-35)
In a world replete with broken relationships, here is a model that invites us to overcome individualism and alienation. The text embodies the ideal of the first Christian community, one that followed Jesus’ exhortation to live a life of love, inclusion, and sharing.
Madeleine Sophie insisted time and again of the need for unity. That is why she chose as the motto of the Society of the Sacred Heart: “One heart and one soul in the Heart of Jesus.”
To be and to act as one Body: To revitalize our unity in diversity and to act as one Body, dynamic, interconnected, linked with other bodies, in the world and as Church, in order to share, collaborate, and be in solidarity among ourselves and with others. |
・As an alumnae and alumni group, what unites us? What divides us? What
attitudes do we need to modify to be able to be and act as one body?
・As a body made up of alumnae and alumni of the Sacred Heart, how do we bear
witness to the love of the Heart of Jesus in our everyday lives?
・What could help us feel and act as one body with the Society of the Sacred
Heart?
